Qamishli is the closest (largish) city to Tell Mozan, and we make (almost) weekly trips to shop and use the internet. Is is a strange and dirty place, and yet somehow I love it. The souk has everything you can possibly imagine, all of it gaudy and strange, and hunting around for random treasures is always a joy.
This is the bus we take. Syrian buses are fantastic.
The souk. While normally bustling, it was Friday and
Ramadan, and everything was closed.
One thing I love about Syria is the large amount of antique cars.
The minaret at sundown.
