Turkey (Reprise)

Back in Turkey, and long overdue for a blog update (sorry everyone). Things have been busy around here.

But to get right down to it, I am working this summer at Tell Tayinat, an excavation in south-central Turkey, near the Syrian border. A brief introduction to the dig house:

The courtyard, where artifacts are processed.

There is a lot of pottery to be dealt with...

Drink station, and the big table where everyone eats in the background.

I don't really have an explanation for this one.

Behind the house is an orchard of olive trees.
